I updated my HP Pavilion Ultrabook 14-boo3sa to windows 8.1 a couple months ago and since then the dolby advanced audio interface software is missing. The speakers are working and sound fine but I just want the option of the equaliser again.
I have looked at the drivers available online and the most upto date driver for audio for this laptop is an IDT audio driver from 2012 for windows 8. Is there a more upto date driver that has the interface software? Or is it just a case that the software has been removed on the update due to compatability issues?
It sounds like dolby advanced audio is still active there is just no interface available as before I updated to windows 8.1. I just received via UPS a HP Pavilion 11 x2 PC 11-h010nr for my daughter for Christmas. I decided to let her open it as her one before Christmas present and I am glad I did. She went into xbox music to listen to her new beats audio sound. On about the 3rd song the loudest annoying buzzing noise came out of the screen portion and the screen was frozen (she had it detached from the keyboard). She hit the power button and the noise stopped. She got back into xbox music and about the 2nd song this time it did it again.

She started to cry and very upset because she thought it was broke and would take a very long time for us to get it fixed and she gets a replacement. Needless to say her Christmas has just turned into a really bad Christmas. Also today I brought the notebook with me to work to see if the problem continues and as I was putting the song on Pause/Play the noise occured, the screen did not freeze but the noise did occur.
Hi zimmetp, It is very hard to say what notebooks will be updated, when a new operating system is available. This does all depend on the hardware that is used to make the computer. Some pieces of the hardware that is used, cannot be upgraded further due to the limitations of that piece of hardware. With say your headphones that worked perfectly before upgrading to Windows 8.1, and the manufacturer stating that there is not specific software/drivers for Windows 8.1. Could be one of the various causes of the issue.
Before updating your operating system HP always recommends to check, and make sure that your computer is first compatible with the new operating system. As well making sure that there is driver updates to make sure that all the components are updated as well.
I have included the document '. This will answer many of your questions. Hello I have problem with my laptop when using whatever headphones on speakers. During the vocals other freqencies are partialy muted, so when lisstening to whatever song then the volume constantly fluctuates with vocals, vocals are boosted and when there are no vocals then the music played is normal. I have tried to mess with beats audio setteings, turnde them on and on again but still same problem. Very annoying. Is it possible to uninstall the drivres copletly because I think that the beats and intels own drivers together mess everything up.
Also bluetooth audio devices wont work only some cracing sound comes through. I heve tried windows support advices but they don´t help.
Also I have latest drivers from HP and using updated win. Waiting for reply. Hi akanyr, Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having problems with your audio. I have done some research and I have a link for you that has a few steps to try. Step 2 mentions installing the latest audio driver and I have the link below for that. Step 4 in the document suggests a different DVD burner and then has a link for their burner.
I don't recommend that program one way or the other but there are several DVD burning programs out there. Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver: = Thank you. Have an HP Pavillion DV6-FV161AV Laptop running windows Vista.

The IDT driver from Windows 7 is just too old to work properly on Windows 10. Even in compatibility mode. I had to inf mod a newer IDT driver released which was recently released via WU but for a totally different HP device to mine. Just so that I could obtain good working sound.
My device also needs a new official IDT WU driver.
